Definitions
Before Minutes: The given amount of time any employee can punch in before their day begins.
After Minutes: The given amount of time any employee can punch out at the end of their day.
Lunch Punch: Any punch taken between the first punch in the morning and the last punch of the day.
Actual Time: The real time the system punches you in down to the second.

Punching In
Epiphany does not know inherently what your individual schedules are, for this reason it assumes employees are punching in for the first time of the day on the hour or half hour. With a 15-minute before time, you have 15 minutes before the hour or half hour to punch in. From the hour to quarter hour the assumption is the employee is late for the shift starting on the hour. When an employee is starting late for their shift the system will not adjust the time. This means the adjusted Time/Hours will be the same time as the Actual (Timeclock) Times. Anytime from 15 minutes after to half past assumes the punch in at the half hour and adjusts the time accordingly. Then, again, from half hour to quarter to the hour it is assumed the employee is late. Anything after the quarter hour to up to the hour considers punching in at the next hour.
Example:
Epiphany assumes the start times are the green box times. If an employee punches in at 6:00:01AM the system assumes the employee is late (red line). Punching in at 6:15:01AM assumes the employee is punching in for their 6:30AM start time and adjusts the start time to then (green line). Similarly, from 6:30:01AM to 6:44:59AM the employee would be late, and from 6:45:01AM to 6:59:59AM the employee would be on time for their 7:00AM shift and the adjusted time would be 7:00AM.

Punching Out
A 10 minute after time means the employee has up until 10 minutes after the hour and a half hour to punch out. Punching out less than 10 minutes after the hour or half hour will assume a punch out at the hour or half hour and adjust the punch accordingly. If an employee punches out after the 10-minute period on the hour or half hour the time clock will punch out on the exact time punched on the time clock. The actual time of punch would be the same as the adjusted time. Punching out before the hour or half hour will similarly result in the same actual time as the adjusted time.
Example:
Epiphany assumes the end times are the green box times. If employee punches out at 6:00:00AM we assume the employee is punching out on the hour. The time will be adjusted to the hour preceding (green line), in this case, 3:00PM. From 3:00:01PM to 3:09:59PM the punch time will be moved back accordingly. After 3:10:01PM up until 3:30:01PM is assumed to be punching out early. This being the case the actual time would be the same as the adjusted time. This is the same action repeating at the half hour.

Lunch Punching
The first and only thing you need to know about any lunch punch is punches will always be broken into 15-minute sections. No matter when an employee punches out, the system will adjust to the next 15-minute increment. The actual times of punch out and in are kept in the system and the rounding may move the adjusted times forward or backward depending on the situation. Just remember it is breaking the real amount of time punched out into 15-minute sections.
The only times outside the realm of a lunch punch are punches less than 5 minutes or greater than 2 hours. In the case of less than 5 minutes, we assume the employee never left or is cross clocking. If the time is greater than 2 hours, we assume the employee is working a split shift and the time the employee was gone was not a lunch hour but a different shift altogether. Easy way to think about this is to take the actual start time of break time and the actual end time of the break, then block it into 15-minute chunks of time. These time blocks are always rounded to the next 15-minute time when the result is over the block.
Example:
No matter what time the employee punches out, the time clock system will attempt to change the hours to the nearest 15-minute block. If the employee punched out at 1:33PM and punched back in at 2:02PM (blue line), the adjustment from the time clock would make it look like the employee punched out at 1:30PM and back in at 2:00PM (green line). If the employee goes over a 15-minute block it will move to the next 15 minutes for punch out time. Punching out at 1:01PM and back in at 1:17PM (red line) will adjust as a 30-minute break showing from 100PM to 1:30PM (orange line).

Time Card Entry Screen
Menu Location: Main / Payroll / Time Clock Entry
The Time Card Entry Screen allows users to manually enter time.
- Name (Last, First)- employee name
- Work Type - the type of hours (i.e., Regular, Overtime, Vacation)
- Time/Hours - the Start Date/Time and the End Date/Time
- Notes - for any pertinent notes for the time entry
Work Time (Hrs) field will automatically calculate and populate. When entering the Start and End Date/Time, always enter time using the top, bottom, and quarter hour increments (i.e., .00, .15, .30, .45). Notice .45 calculates Work Time (Hrs) as .75 and similarly .15 calculates Work Time (Hrs) as .25, and .30 calculates Work Time (Hrs) as .50.
