Export Manager
When flattened, data exported from Epiphany's unique data structure may appear skewed or misleading. For more accurate reporting, consider using "Pirouette," Epiphany's pivot table system. Be cautious when working with exported data, as it becomes static at the time of export and will not reflect real-time system updates.
Menu Location: Administration Application: Utilities / Export Manager
Purpose: The export manager is designed to create a configuration file used to execute the export process for the primary object. This export is initiated through the menu while working within the primary object. It differs from the export functionality triggered by right-clicking on Epiphany grids, as those exports are predefined based on the columns and rows of the specific grid system.
From the Export Data screen, select the Export Description to edit or click "Add" to create a new export configuration file.
The following export field details will assist in building the proper export configuration file.
- 1. Primary Elements
- Export Description: This is the name that will appear when selecting the export feature from a primary object screen.
- Primary Object: This is the main object you wish to have this configuration available from. Notice exports will appear on ALL screens where this field matches the primary object of that screen.
- Text Delimiter: The export file will use this character as the text delimiter for the outbound file.
- Export Headers: Checking this field will export the column header names located in the "Export Details".
- Tab Delimited (Default is Commas): Checking this will change the export from delineation to rows from Comma to Tabs.
- ExportData (Button): This button will initiate the primary object exportation of this configuration file.
- Comment: Ensure to enter a comment on each export to assist with future export configuration and help determine the original purpose of each configuration export file.
- 1. Export Filters
- Property: This is the item you wish to drive the filter from.
- Rel Type: If the property you selected is linked though a relationship this is the links relationship to the primary record for the selected Property.
